Outspoken Art/Arte Claro is a Poetry and Art Exhibition which advocates the United Nations’ Declaration on the Elimination of All Forms of Violence against Women.

In 1993, the General Assembly adopted the Declaration on the Elimination of All Forms of Violence Against Women. While not legally binding, the Declaration represents international consensus on government obligations to end violence against women.

Article 2 of the Declaration states that violence against women includes, but is not limited to: violence in the family - battering, sexual abuse of female children in the household; dowry-related violence, marital rape, female genital mutilation and other traditional practices harmful to women, and violence related to exploitation; violence in the general community - rape, sexual abuse, sexual harassment and intimidation at work, in educational institutions and elsewhere; trafficking in women and forced prostitution; and violence perpetrated or condoned by the State - wherever it occurs.

Outspoken Art/Arte Claro's format has been inspired by the ongoing poetry and art project and exhibition FacingFaces, the provocative project of the Belgian artist and curator Mr. Gino d’Artali created in response to the alarming increase in violence against women and children in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, México.
