Linda Rae Dornan was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, raised in Montréal, Québec and moved to Sackville, New Brunswick in 1989. Her artwork is interdisciplinary, including installation, sculpture, video, audio, and performance. She is a member of fig, an improvisational sound group in Sackville which creates new sound pieces every week, and recently performed at the Symposium of Art, and the John Cage Festival in Sackville. Recent exhibitions include ³Uncommon Threads² at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, and the ³Marion McCain Atlantic Art Exhibition² which opened at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, Fredericton, NB and travelled to Museum London, London, ON, and Dalhousie Art Gallery, Halifax, NS (2001-02). She has exhibited across Canada, in Europe and the States. Her artwork explores personal questionings about language, the body, and personal relationships.

Artist's Statement

The title for the brain image is "exquisite timing".
The image is about passion, and the heightening and blurring of reason with which passions can confuse us.
